Crystal River Florida is considered the gem of the Nature Coast. Located in Citrus County, Crystal River is about a two-hour drive from Tampa and St. Petersburg. Kings Bay is known to be one of the best places in the world to observe manatees in their natural habitat. People come to Crystal River from all over the world to see and swim with the Manatees. Kings Bay is an Outstanding Florida Waterway with lots of water sports like kayaking, canoeing, boating, snorkeling, diving, scalloping, swimming, and fishing. For lodging or waterfront vacation rentals, Kings Bay Lodge is the Florida vacation spot. They boast one of the only spring fed swimming pools in the state. Kings Bay in Crystal River is spring fed and keeps a constant 72-degrees all year. About 50 first-magnitude springs feed Kings Bay. First magnitude springs discharge 100 cubic feet or more of water per second or about 64 millions of gallons of water per day.  The Springs in Crystal River are the second largest springs group in Florida. Kings Bay is home to over 450 manatees during the winter months. This is your best chance to swim with or see a Manatee. Crystal River is the only place in the United States where people can legally interact with Manatees in their natural habitat. We have seven Outstanding Florida Waterways to our credit. The Withlacoochee River, St. Martins River, Salt River, Halls River, Homosassa River and Chassahowitzka River. Citrus County offers endless water sporting activities on both salt and fresh water. Canoe or kayak the new Citrus County Canoe and Kayak Trail. The trail extends eleven miles from the Crystal River to the Chassahowitzka River. The trail is clearly marked and navigates you through some of the county's most beautiful scenery.
